Longer Tours

We are looking forward to welcome you on a longer horse tour with free running horses through Iceland. Here you can see our offers for longer tours and we have fixed tours for each year, to which you can join. If the "right" date for you is not included, or a longer tour does not satisfy your individual wishes, then please send us an email. We will be happy to design a longer tour according to your individual wishes. And if you are a group of some people, that wants to go "alone" on a longer tour, then we will be happy to fulfill this request!

Stay in the Kolbeinsvalley, where the wild horses live. We will do different riding tours with handhorses or loose horses runnig with us, which promise a lot of fun.

Longer tour to Kolbeinsdalur

Our tour to Merkigíl leads across untouched nature (withou ways), along river basin and across a bridge, before we reach our accomodation Merkigíl.

Longer tour to Merkigil

We will not only ride over a litte mountain and next to a river but also cross the lake Hop for example and ride to nice beach landscape which is total enjoyable and a lot of fun for rider and horses.

Trail Hop

We are happy to take you to the sheep round up and you can take part in this tradition, side by side with old and young Icelanders. We will ride at night in the mountains and drive the sheeps in the direction of a sheepcote. There we will sorting the sheeps and drive them back to our farm. This is an unforgettable experience.

Sheep Round Up

Traditionally, every year the horse round up takes place, the so-called Laufskálarétt. The horses are drived from Kolbeinvalley which is situated about 30 km far from our farm Helluland. We are glad to offer you the possibility to take part in this event and will make you a special offer.

We will ride to the most interesting destinations in Skagafjörður at Helluland for one week. This trip combines visiting Akureyri and the bird islandl Drangey with its puffins and other spots like the hot spring in Grettislaug.
